Morocco tourism revenues reach $4.83bn first months of 2026

Morocco recorded tourism revenues of MAD 44.39 billion, equivalent to $4.83 billion, during the first four months of 2026. The figure shows a 21.2 percent increase compared with the same period in 2025, reflecting sustained growth in the country’s travel sector.

Travel spending also increased over the same period. Expenditures reached MAD 9.84 billion, or about $980 million, up 5.4 percent year on year. The wider travel balance remained strongly positive, with a surplus of MAD 34.55 billion, around $3.7 billion, marking a 26.7 percent rise compared with the end of April 2025.

Officials attribute this performance to continued expansion in visitor flows and improved connectivity. Morocco welcomed 4.3 million tourists in the first quarter of 2026, a 7 percent increase compared with the previous year. March alone brought in around 1.6 million visitors, supported by new air routes and diversified source markets.

The tourism sector has become a key driver of Morocco’s external earnings. The country received nearly 20 million tourists in 2025, and authorities expect arrivals to exceed 26 million by 2030. Growth trends suggest continued momentum, driven by infrastructure expansion and sustained demand from international travelers.

A government representative said the sector remains on track and emphasized maintaining growth throughout the year, noting that recent monthly figures confirm strong underlying demand.
