Morocco's Comprehensive Support for Palestinians Shines Through Education, Humanitarian Aid, and Diplomacy

In a time of relentless conflict in Gaza, Morocco offers a beacon of hope and resilience to Palestinian children through its new educational initiative. The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency has launched the 2024 "Summer Schools" program, benefiting over 4,000 children across 17 locations in Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

A Theme of Unity and Solidarity

Under the theme "For the Consecration of the Values of Unity and Solidarity," this initiative is sponsored by the "Children’s Club for Al-Quds" and funded by the Moroccan Cultural Center Association. It aims to provide a supportive and educational environment to help children overcome the challenges they face in Al-Quds and Palestine.

The program encompasses 150 workshops focusing on art, theater, balance games, and intelligence activities. The "Children’s Club for Al-Quds" has also extended its support to several schools in marginalized areas by covering transportation costs and providing amenities such as pools, inflatable structures, electronic games, theatrical performances, and stationery.

Practical Skills and Emergency Preparedness

This year, the program has incorporated emergency and rescue simulation exercises through the "FAZAA" project, training children to manage fire situations indoors and outdoors. Additionally, first aid training with qualified instructors and sessions on best practices for safety and security at home and school are provided to encourage children to report dangers.

The program reaches all neighborhoods in Al-Quds and extends to areas beyond the wall, with specialized camps focusing on the history of displaced villages. An additional camp for architecture students is dedicated to designing engineering plans for facilities in the Gaza Strip.

Coinciding with Gaza Conflict

The launch of the summer school program coincides with the ongoing conflict in Gaza, where Israeli Occupation Forces have been targeting civilians since October 7. The death toll has reached nearly 40,000, with estimates suggesting it could rise significantly as more bodies are recovered.

Morocco's Continuous Support

Under the guidance of King Mohammed VI, Morocco has been a steadfast supporter of the Palestinian cause. As Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, the King has consistently condemned the violence in Gaza and called for the preservation of Jerusalem's historical and cultural identity.

Morocco has also provided substantial humanitarian aid to Gaza, including two shipments totaling 40 tons of medical supplies and other commodities to alleviate the dire situation. The Arab Parliament has recently highlighted King Mohammed VI's long-standing efforts in defending the Palestinian cause and urged increased international recognition and support for Palestine.

Beyond Education: E-Learning and Innovation

In addition to the summer school program, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency has provided an e-learning platform package to Al-Azhar University in Gaza, ensuring educational continuity amid the conflict. The Agency is also fostering innovation and entrepreneurship through its "BMAQ Innovation HUB" incubation program, focusing on technology and digitization.

A Commitment to Peace and Stability

As the crisis in Gaza continues, Morocco remains unwavering in its commitment to supporting the Palestinian people through various initiatives and diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.

Morocco's multifaceted approach to supporting Palestinians through education, humanitarian aid, and diplomacy shines as a beacon of solidarity during these challenging times.
