The Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) in Morocco has recently revealed its decision to promote an impressive total of 7,513 police officers for the fiscal year 2023. This move represents a substantial increase in the promotion rate, soaring to 66.02%, a remarkable leap from the preceding years' modest rates of 42-43%.

Among the promoted officers are 4,810 uniformed police personnel and 2,703 civil officers, including 280 accomplished women. Notably, a strategic focus has been placed on elevating lower and middle-ranking officers, resulting in the advancement of 4,432 uniformed officers, ranging from brigadier to police inspector principal, and 1,887 civil officers, progressing from inspector principal to commissioner principal.

The meticulous evaluation process conducted by promotion boards considered multiple factors, including integrated performance assessments, annual ratings, and specific criteria such as professional competence, merit, performance record, seniority in service and rank, professional trajectory, and discipline history. This thorough assessment is designed to reward sacrifice and dedication, fostering a commitment to the crucial mission of safeguarding citizen security and property.

With a remarkable promotion rate of 66.02%, the DGSN underscores its dedication to fostering consistent career growth and recognizing excellence within its ranks. By elevating deserving police professionals, the organization not only fortifies Morocco's security forces but also ensures the provision of high-quality services that prioritize public safety. As the new fiscal year unfolds, a new cohort of promoted personnel is poised to enhance community safety across the nation.
