Morocco's Atlantic Vision: A Bridge Between Continents Unveiled in Quebec

In a significant diplomatic outreach, Morocco's ambitious Atlantic Initiative was showcased in Drummondville, Quebec, highlighting the kingdom's strategic vision for intercontinental cooperation. The event, part of the 5th Moroccan Cultural Day, underscored Morocco's pivotal role in fostering connections between Africa, the Americas, and Europe.

Houda Zemmouri, Director of the Moroccan Cultural Center "Dar Al Maghrib," emphasized the initiative's core objectives: strengthening ties between African nations and the Americas while promoting peace, stability, and shared prosperity. Speaking at the gathering themed "Francophonie and Atlantic Space: Catalysts for Exchange between Morocco and Canada," Zemmouri highlighted Morocco's unique geographical position as a key player in the Atlantic region.

The initiative is backed by tangible projects that demonstrate Morocco's commitment to becoming a strategic hub. Notable examples include the Dakhla port development and the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline, both designed to facilitate economic and cultural exchanges across continents.

Zemmouri pointed out the particularly promising partnership prospects with Canada, spanning diverse fields such as economy, regional security, and sustainable development. "The Atlantic space holds a special place in Morocco's strategy for developing its international relations," she noted, adding that "Canadian expertise in innovation and sustainable development, coupled with Morocco's ambitions for Africa, is a powerful lever for mutually beneficial cooperation."

The cultural dimension of this international outreach was emphasized by Imad Saoudi, President of the Morocco-Canada Friendship Cooperation Association. Saoudi stressed the crucial role of culture in bridging communities and strengthening human ties, underlining the importance of promoting and preserving Morocco's rich cultural heritage while fostering intercultural dialogue.

The event in Drummondville, organized in partnership with Dar Al-Maghrib, featured an exhibition of books and handicrafts, along with a traditional music performance. It served as a platform for collaboration, exchange, and partnership, reinforcing bilateral relations between Morocco and Canada.

This year's focus on the vitality of cultural and human exchanges between the two nations through the lens of Francophonie and Atlantic links underscores the multifaceted nature of Morocco's international strategy. As Morocco positions itself as a bridge between continents, initiatives like these pave the way for deeper understanding and cooperation in an increasingly interconnected world.
