According to the latest "Government AI Readiness Index 2023" report by the London-based firm Oxford Insights, Morocco has secured the 88th position globally in terms of its preparedness in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). This comprehensive ranking evaluates 193 countries based on 39 indicators across 10 dimensions, encompassing the pillars of Government, Technological Sector, and Infrastructure and Data.

Within the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region, Morocco holds a commendable 12th position, while the United Arab Emirates leads regionally and secures the 18th spot globally.

A detailed analysis of the report reveals Morocco's strength in the "Infrastructure and Data" pillar, where it achieved an impressive score of 56.79 out of 100. However, less favorable results are recorded for the "Government" pillar, with a score of 37.54 out of 100, and the "Technological Sector" pillar, with a score of 35.69.

Morocco's prowess in the "Infrastructure and Data" pillar signifies a robust foundation for AI development. The country's commitment to building a strong technological infrastructure is evident in this high score, reflecting well-established data systems and supportive frameworks.

On the other hand, the report indicates areas where improvement is needed. The "Government" pillar's lower score suggests that there may be challenges in the policy and regulatory landscape related to AI. Addressing these issues could contribute to a more conducive environment for AI advancements in Morocco.

Similarly, the "Technological Sector" pillar's score suggests potential areas for enhancement in research, innovation, and development of AI technologies within the country. Strengthening collaborations between the government, industry, and academia could foster innovation and elevate Morocco's standing in this dimension.

In conclusion, while Morocco has made significant strides in AI readiness, there is room for improvement in certain areas. Addressing the challenges highlighted in the report could further elevate Morocco's position in the global AI landscape and solidify its role as a key player in the technological advancements reshaping the future.
