Morocco launches sovereign AI platform to boost industrial transformation
Aba Technology unveiled a new artificial intelligence platform designed to support Morocco’s push for technological sovereignty and industrial growth, according to a company statement issued in Rabat on April 2 .
The launch event took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Rabat under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Digital Transition. The initiative aligns with the national strategy led by Mohammed VI to accelerate the country’s transition toward a competitive industrial and digital economy.
The platform, branded Fusion AI, is developed and operated in Morocco in partnership with NVIDIA and Dell Technologies. It targets enterprises, public institutions, and scientific organizations seeking to deploy large-scale AI systems with local control over data and infrastructure.
The system integrates computing infrastructure, cloud services, industrial systems, and edge technologies into a unified architecture. It is designed to convert digital assets into operational intelligence, improving efficiency and resilience across sectors.
At the core of the platform is Fusion AI-in-a-Box, a compact and patented AI infrastructure described as a sovereign “AI factory.” Built using Nvidia Blackwell chips and enterprise software, it enables rapid and secure deployment of AI applications while addressing energy efficiency and data governance requirements.
Aba Technology also introduced sector-specific applications. The enterprise solution includes a digital twin system that supports industrial optimization and risk management, with early deployment in mining operations. A governance platform offers tools for data-driven public policy management. In the scientific field, a dedicated system accelerates biomedical research and drug discovery through advanced AI agents.
The project reflects the vision of company founder Mohamed Benouda, who has more than two decades of experience in industrial and logistics sectors. He previously held leadership roles in major organizations including Lafarge and SNCF. His approach focuses on building end-to-end technological capabilities in Morocco, from hardware to software, to strengthen national and regional competitiveness.
Benouda said the platform aims to provide scalable and secure AI systems while supporting a broader shift toward integrated digital infrastructure. Global investment in artificial intelligence is expected to exceed $1.5 trillion in the coming years, creating opportunities for emerging technology hubs.
Aba Technology plans to present Fusion AI-in-a-Box at the GITEX Africa event in Marrakech from April 7 to 9, where it will showcase its applications to industry stakeholders and international partners.
