Morocco Claims Silver in MENA Karting Championship with Outstanding Performance

The Moroccan national karting team showcased exceptional skill at the 5th MENA Nations Cup, securing second place overall at Qatar's Lusail Circuit. The competition, which ran from December 17-21, saw Morocco finish just seven points behind Lebanon and ahead of the United Arab Emirates.

The prestigious event, sanctioned by the International Automobile Federation (FIA), brought together more than 150 competitors representing 16 nations, including Morocco, Qatar, Algeria, Egypt, Bahrain, Turkey, Oman, Palestine, Syria, Iran, Kuwait, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, and the UAE.

Throughout the five-day competition, Moroccan drivers demonstrated remarkable consistency, achieving four podium finishes. A standout performance came from the endurance category duo of Othmane Benhayoun and Reda Benaidy, who clinched first place, outpacing teams from the UAE and Algeria.

Individual achievements further bolstered Morocco's success, with Anis Tazi securing second place in the Senior Max category. Al Mahdi Kadiri added to the medal count with a third-place finish in the R390 Sprint category. In a particularly impressive display, Nahyl El Gahoudy mounted a remarkable comeback from the last position to capture third place in the Micro Max category.

The Royal Moroccan Federation of Motorsport (FRMSA) highlighted that this marks Morocco's third podium finish in five MENA Nations Cup tournaments, cementing the country's position among the region's elite karting nations. To further develop the sport domestically, the FRMSA continues to organize annual national karting championships, including 4-stroke events, aimed at broadening participation and accessibility in motorsport.
