Morocco as a Global Model of Peace and Tolerance

Saturday 07 December 2024 - 10:01
Morocco as a Global Model of Peace and Tolerance

Morocco, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, has become a beacon of peace and tolerance globally, according to Younes Sekkouri, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Enterprises, Employment, and Skills. Speaking at the "Euromed University of Fès Meetings" on Friday, Sekkouri emphasized that Morocco's model aims to rebuild trust on the international stage. The event, held under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, focused on the theme "Rebuilding Trust for a Unified and Plural World."

Sekkouri highlighted that Morocco’s success is rooted in the enlightened leadership of the King and the longstanding tradition of political pluralism within the country. This combination has allowed Morocco to develop and strengthen a democratic model that continues to evolve. He pointed out that the Moroccan model is not utopian or theoretical, but practical, founded on the nation’s social, sporting, diplomatic, and economic organization.

According to the minister, thanks to the King’s leadership and the wisdom of the Moroccan people, Moroccans are able to thrive and maintain their presence and influence globally with confidence, assurance, and humility. He stressed the importance of questioning how societal projects are developed, posing the critical question: “Are the countries, states, and societies we engage with at peace with themselves?”

The event brought together prominent international figures to discuss issues such as peace, migration, international cooperation, transparency, accountability, preventive diplomacy, and the impact of artificial intelligence. The discussions also focused on addressing global challenges such as the effects of extreme climate phenomena and forced migration due to various pressures.

The organizers expressed their commitment to fostering dialogue to create collective solutions to global issues, with a special focus on the integrity and accuracy of information in the face of AI advancements, as well as climate and migration crises.
