A strategic partnership between Marita and Gotion High-Tech highlights Morocco’s growing role as a regional energy hub, with a focus on storage technologies and industrial expansion across Africa.

As global energy systems undergo rapid transformation, Morocco is positioning itself at the forefront of innovation by strengthening ties with China. The collaboration combines Moroccan expertise in infrastructure development and regional markets with advanced Chinese technology in battery production and energy storage.

A key element of this partnership is the planned construction of a large-scale battery manufacturing facility in the Kenitra region. The project aims to produce high-capacity lithium-ion batteries, supporting both domestic energy needs and export opportunities across the African continent.

Energy storage is becoming increasingly critical as countries expand renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. Reliable storage solutions help stabilize power grids and ensure continuous electricity supply, particularly in regions with limited infrastructure.
