Morocco's franchise sector surges 25% yearly
The franchise sector in Morocco is experiencing remarkable growth, with a consistent 25% annual increase that has caught the attention of international investors, according to Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour's announcement in Casablanca on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Morocco Franchise Exhibition 2025 launch ceremony, Mezzour highlighted how strategic investments in established brands and structured entrepreneurship can create employment opportunities while expanding Morocco's economic footprint globally.
The minister noted that unlike China and Italy, most countries lack specific franchise regulations, emphasizing that "each country must adapt its own mechanisms for financing and supporting young entrepreneurs to ensure the success of this model."
Success in franchising, Mezzour stressed, depends on three critical factors: selecting appropriate partners, implementing the right business concept, and choosing optimal locations to ensure network sustainability and profitability.
Morocco's franchise sector has maintained this impressive growth rate over the past 15 years, now boasting 745 networks. International brands dominate the landscape, representing 84% of all franchises, with the sector generating MAD 20 billion in turnover.
Industry projections suggest an ambitious 500% expansion in key sectors by 2030, particularly in clothing, restaurants, and services.
