In an unfolding diplomatic controversy, numerous Moroccan political parties are calling for a decisive governmental response following reports of an Israeli warship allegedly docking in Moroccan waters. This incident has intensified calls to sever diplomatic ties with Israel, especially in light of the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The Justice and Development Party (PJD) and the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) have been particularly vocal in their condemnation. The PPS, addressing the matter on Tuesday, decried the purported docking of the Israeli vessel, emphasizing that such actions are intolerable given the current climate of violence in Gaza. "In the face of the continued brutal Israeli aggression, there can be no normal relations with Israel or allowing an Israeli military ship to dock in a Moroccan port," the PPS stated.

Reports have emerged suggesting that an Israeli military ship recently anchored at Tangier port. This news has triggered a wave of concern among various political entities, including the Democratic Left Federation, which reiterated its opposition to any form of relations with Israel. The party characterized the alleged docking as a "flagrant violation of the decision of the International Court of Justice."

The PJD, another prominent political force, has been a steadfast critic of the Israeli Occupation Forces’ (IOF) actions in Gaza. Abdellah Bouanou, head of the PJD parliamentary group, highlighted the widespread dismay these reports have sparked among Moroccans. "Such circulated news undoubtedly disturbs Morocco’s positions on the Palestinian cause," Bouanou remarked, underlining the national outrage prompted by the IOF's continued aggression.

Abdelilah Benkirane, leader of the PJD and former Head of Government, also voiced his dissatisfaction with Morocco’s response to the Gaza crisis. During a party meeting on Monday, Benkirane criticized the perceived inadequacy of Morocco’s solidarity with Palestine. "The solidarity of Moroccans with Gaza expressed through protests and sit-ins remains weak and without political impact," he asserted.

The situation remains tense as Moroccan political parties and citizens alike await a clear and decisive stance from their government regarding the alleged docking and the broader issue of Moroccan-Israeli relations amidst the ongoing strife in Gaza.
