Moroccan manufacturers excel at Arab quality summit, setting new industry standards

Three Moroccan companies have received prestigious recognition at the 60th Arab High Committee for Standardization meeting in Rabat, highlighting Morocco's growing influence in regional manufacturing excellence.

Sogea Maroc, SMCV, and Super Cerame were awarded the Arab Quality Award for their contributions to product quality and industrial competitiveness. The event also honored companies from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, including Sadara Chemicals Company and Kuwait Drilling Fluids and Oilfield Services Company.

Super Cerame's Communication Director, Youssef Oubaba, described the award as both an honor and responsibility, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining quality standards in zellige manufacturing.

The meeting, organized by the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization, and Mining (IDSMO), brought together representatives from Arab standardization bodies, the Gulf Cooperation Council's Standardization Organization, and international bodies including ISO, IEC, and ARSO.

IDSMO Director General Adel Saqr unveiled the Arab Strategy for Standardization and Quality 2024-2028, approved by Arab industry ministers. The strategy focuses on strengthening quality infrastructure across the region, with emphasis on artificial intelligence governance and innovation support.

The initiative aims to enhance economic development while addressing environmental challenges through unified standards that improve performance, protect privacy, and align with international requirements.
