Moroccan Karate Champion Claims Gold at Premier League Championships in Paris
The Royal Moroccan Federation of Karate and Associated Disciplines (FRMK) is basking in the glory of Moroccan athlete Said Oubaya's triumph, clinching the gold medal at the Premier League Karate 1 Championships held in Paris from January 26th-29th.
In a gripping final match, the 67 kg karateka dominated his opponent, Italian Luca Maesca, with a resounding 9-1 victory. Oubaya, brimming with joy, shared his pride in representing Morocco on the global stage and dedicated his win to his country. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the unwavering support of the FRMK President and coaches.
Yannick Piersotte, FRMK’s National Technical Director, hailed Oubaya’s gold medal as a testament to the success of the Federation's robust athlete development plan. He lauded the champion's unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in the lead-up to the tournament. Piersotte also underscored the potential for Moroccan karatekas to secure more podium finishes in upcoming championships.
This victory significantly advances the FRMK's ambition of positioning Moroccan senior karate among the global top ten by year-end.
