Marjane appoints Mourad Alem as new CEO, succeeding Ayoub Azami

Marjane’s Board of Directors announced Mourad Alem as the company’s new president and CEO, replacing Ayoub Azami, who will assume a new role within the Al Mada Group. Alem brings over 30 years of international experience in the home appliance and equipment industry, having led regional operations for several major multinational corporations.

Extensive international experience

Alem began his career in France, working in telecommunications and event management, before joining Whirlpool. At Whirlpool, he expanded operations across Morocco, North Africa, and West Africa, later managing multiple regions spanning Southeast Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He also served as general director for Electrolux, overseeing the Mediterranean and African markets.

He holds degrees from KEDGE Business School and University College Dublin, equipping him with a strong foundation in business management and international operations.

Leadership transition and legacy

The Marjane Board expressed gratitude to Ayoub Azami for his decade of leadership and contributions to the company’s growth. “The Board congratulated Mr. Ayoub Azami for the work accomplished during his ten years leading the Marjane Group and thanked him for his commitment and contribution to the company’s projects,” the statement read.

Azami now transitions to a new position within Al Mada, the parent company, while Alem assumes leadership immediately, tasked with guiding Marjane’s continued expansion and strategic initiatives.
