Macron says France does not endorse US method to remove Maduro
French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Monday that France does not support the method used by the United States to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, according to the government spokesperson.
Speaking at the Council of Ministers, Macron described Maduro as “a dictator” and said that his departure would be good news for the Venezuelan people. The comments were made after Macron faced criticism, especially from the political left, for his initial reaction, which did not comment on the approach taken by Washington.
The remarks come amid growing international attention on US actions in Venezuela, highlighting the delicate balance countries like France try to maintain between opposing authoritarian regimes and condemning unilateral foreign interventions.
