Khénifra approves series of development projects to boost health, infrastructure, and culture
The Provincial Council of Khénifra has approved a series of development projects and partnership agreements covering health, infrastructure, urban renewal, and cultural and sports activities during an extraordinary session held Tuesday at the provincial headquarters.
Presided over by Council President Hamid El Babour, and attended by Governor Mohamed Adil Ihourane and council members, the session carefully reviewed and approved all agenda items.
On the financial front, the council sanctioned the cancellation of certain existing partnership agreements and budget allocations, redirecting resources toward new development priorities. The surplus budget was also programmed to ensure efficient financing of the scheduled projects.
In the health sector, the council discussed the use of the former Khénifra hemodialysis center building and requested its rental through the State Property Directorate. Additionally, a partnership agreement was approved to strengthen human resources in healthcare facilities, aiming to improve medical service quality and address provincial staff shortages.
Regarding infrastructure, the council endorsed a partnership to upgrade the “Takouzalt” rural road in Tighassaline commune and approved amendments to the provincial connectivity program for 2025-2026, improving access to basic services and regional mobility.
Urban development plans include a partnership for studies and rehabilitation work on the old central market in Khénifra, enhancing commercial infrastructure and urban attractiveness.
Cultural and social initiatives were also approved, including the organization of the “Water Festival,” activities for the annual Moussem of Moulay Bouazza, and support for the operational costs of the Chabab Atlas Khénifra (CAK) sports club.
