RABAT - A significant milestone was celebrated this week by the Jacques Chirac School Group in Rabat, marking the inauguration of its expanded campus, complete with a new high school facility. This expansion solidifies the school's standing as a leading institution for French education in Morocco.

Currently boasting an enrollment of over 1,000 students, with a capacity for nearly 1,500 at full throttle, the Rabat school continues its impressive growth trajectory since its establishment in 2019. The institution now boasts a team of 130 staff members, notably comprised of a high percentage of international educators offering diverse perspectives.

The school has garnered a commendable reputation, evidenced by students achieving an impressive 28% top honors rate in the French Brevet exams. State-of-the-art facilities, including interactive projectors in every classroom, facilitate dynamic and engaging learning experiences. The new 18,000 square meter campus maintains an intimate scale with just four classes per grade level.

During the inauguration ceremony, Principal Carole Soulagnes underscored the school’s commitment to citizenship and inclusion. This commitment materializes through various initiatives promoting solidarity and commitment, with active pedagogy fostering collaboration and enhancing students’ personal skills.

French Ambassador Hélène Le Gal expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Every day is unique, but today is a time to celebrate French education in Morocco, of which we are immensely proud. With 42 establishments, it forms the largest network of French institutions globally, educating almost 50,000 students.”

Ambassador Le Gal applauded the school’s bilingual Arabic-French curriculum as an innovative approach. "This is particularly evident in the educational project based on languages, French and Arabic, since this year, and especially next year, we’ll have baccalaureate holders with an international French, Franco-Arabic baccalaureate," she explained. "It’s something that was conceived in Morocco."

Claude Chirac, daughter of the late French President Jacques Chirac, attended the ceremony and reflected, "I believe Jacques Chirac, from where he is, must be very pleased because he had a profound connection with Morocco and believed education was the key to upward mobility in life."

The ongoing expansion of the Rabat campus, coupled with its distinctive pedagogical approaches, underscores the robustness of French education in Morocco. As the school continues to grow, it pays homage to Jacques Chirac's legacy by empowering the youth through knowledge and a myriad of perspectives.
