Italy defends US base agreements, says country not at war with Iran

Italy has reaffirmed its commitment to longstanding defense agreements with the United States while firmly rejecting claims that such cooperation places the country at war with Iran. Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto clarified that honoring international treaties should not be interpreted as direct involvement in armed conflict.
