Islamic Nations Rally Behind Morocco's Strong Defense of Palestinian Rights

In a compelling demonstration of unity, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has praised Morocco for its significant role in advocating for Palestinian rights amidst Israel's persistent aggression in occupied territories. During an emergency summit convened in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the 57-member bloc lauded the Kingdom's steadfast leadership through the Jerusalem Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The OIC commended Morocco's determined efforts to protect the identity, legal status, and cultural heritage of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) against Israel's escalating oppressive measures. The committee's actions to safeguard the sanctity of the holy city were recognized as a crucial defense against the systematic erosion of Palestinian rights.

Additional recognition was given to Morocco's Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, which has implemented extensive initiatives to support socio-economic development and cultural preservation in Jerusalem. In the midst of a worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Rafah, the agency's contributions serve as a source of hope for the besieged Palestinian population.

The urgent gathering of Islamic nations highlighted grave concerns regarding Israel's ongoing military offensives, resulting in the loss of over 30,500 Palestinian lives, primarily innocent civilians and children. The looming threat of an invasion of Rafah, a town sheltering 1.4 million displaced Gazans, has heightened fears of escalating violence and a deepening humanitarian catastrophe.

At the summit, Morocco's Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita reiterated the Kingdom's unwavering support for Palestinian rights and its active participation in regional endeavors to advocate for their cause. His impassioned remarks echoed the resolutions adopted during the joint Arab-Islamic Summit held in Riyadh the previous November, emphasizing the collective determination to uphold justice and human dignity.

In a significant development, the OIC announced the establishment of a legal observatory to meticulously document Israeli war crimes against Palestinians, along with a media observatory to amplify global awareness of these violations. This initiative underscores the organization's commitment to holding occupying forces accountable and amplifying the voices of the oppressed.

Morocco's condemnation of the recent "Flour Massacre," where Palestinians awaiting humanitarian aid were brutally killed by Israeli forces, further exemplifies the Kingdom's principled stance. Rejecting such egregious violations of international humanitarian law, Morocco has called for an independent and transparent investigation to ensure justice for the victims and their families.

As the Palestinian struggle for self-determination and freedom persists, the unwavering support of the Islamic world for Morocco's efforts underscores a steadfast commitment to upholding the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
