French baccalaureate exams debut in Dakhla with local center
The French School Odette du Puigaudeau has reached a significant milestone by hosting the French baccalaureate examinations at its Dakhla campus for the first time. The development marks a new stage in the expansion of French education in southern Morocco and allows students to complete one of the most important steps of their academic journey without traveling outside the city.
The examination session began this week in the presence of Guylène Esnault, Deputy Advisor for Cultural Cooperation and Educational Affairs responsible for French education in Morocco. She described the event as an important achievement for students, their families, and the broader educational community. The opening of a local examination center reflects the growing role of the institution within the network of French schools operating abroad.
Established in 2012, the Odette du Puigaudeau School provides education from kindergarten through high school. This year, 33 students are taking the French baccalaureate exams in Dakhla. The availability of a local examination center removes the need for candidates to travel to other cities and offers families easier access to a curriculum aligned with French national education standards.
The school enrolled 241 students during the current academic year and continues to expand its educational offering. Its strategy focuses on multilingual learning, academic achievement through a comprehensive teaching approach, and the development of responsible citizens with awareness of environmental issues. School leaders view the organization of the examinations in Dakhla as an important chapter in the institution’s growth and a contribution to strengthening educational opportunities in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Esnault stressed the value of the French baccalaureate and the opportunities it creates for graduates. She noted that the diploma opens access to a wide range of higher education institutions in Morocco, France, and other countries. The launch of the examination center in Dakhla further strengthens the school’s position and supports broader access to French education across Morocco’s southern provinces.
