Fès-Meknès launches 11 tourism projects to boost regional investment
The Regional Investment Center of Fès-Meknès has launched a call for projects for the development of 11 tourism initiatives aimed at increasing the region’s attractiveness and creating sustainable employment opportunities.
This strategy seeks to stimulate the local economy by encouraging private investment on public land and diversifying the region’s tourism offerings.
Diverse tourism initiatives
Key projects include a 4-star hotel-club with 80 rooms in the province of Sefrou, featuring leisure and sports facilities such as swimming pools, a water park, sports fields, and entertainment spaces. The project aims to modernize local accommodation and strengthen the province’s tourism appeal.
Other projects are spread across several provinces. In Boulemane, initiatives include a tourist lodge in Enjil and an ecomuseum with lodges in El Orjane. In Taounate, planned developments include a guesthouse and leisure park in Ourtzagh, and a 3-star tourist residence in Al Kissane.
In Taza province, projects will take place in Bab Boudir (lodge and hotel-club), Smia (lodge), Matmata (3-star hotel), and Bouchfaa (lodge and interpretation center at Tazekka National Park). El Hajeb will also host a hotel with a minimum 3-star rating.
Investment and employment driver
Through this initiative, the Regional Investment Center aims to provide a structured and secure framework for investors using various public lands, including state-owned property, communal, collective, and forested areas. The goal is to leverage local potential, enhance tourism, and stimulate economic and social development throughout the region.
