Eid Al-Adha: Morocco's CDG Announces Early Pension Payments Starting June 12
In a bid to provide timely financial relief during the festive period of Eid Al-Adha, Morocco's Deposit and Management Fund (CDG) has announced the early disbursement of pensions. This initiative will see pensions from retirement plans, solidarity fund annuities, and related assistance payments that were originally scheduled for July 2024, being made available from June 12.
The savings and pension division of CDG, which manages the National Retirement and Insurance Fund (CNRA) and the Collective Retirement Allocation Scheme (RCAR), made the announcement. This proactive measure is aimed at ensuring that retirees and beneficiaries receive their funds in time for the important celebrations.
This decision underscores CDG's commitment to supporting the financial well-being of its pensioners and beneficiaries. It also highlights the organization's significant role in Morocco's ongoing and future projects, including preparations for the 2030 World Cup.
In a related development, a partnership agreement between the Moroccan government and CDG has been established to upgrade six stadiums and construct a new one in anticipation of the 2025 African Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup. This collaboration is a testament to CDG’s dedication to contributing to national development initiatives.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Morocco has declared that Dhu al-Hijjah will begin on Saturday, with Eid Al-Adha set to be celebrated on Monday, June 17. This announcement followed a crescent moon sighting conducted on Friday, confirming the visibility of the moon and marking the start of the holy month.
Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture, in conjunction with industry experts, has conducted a comprehensive evaluation predicting a robust supply of livestock for the celebrations. This year, a combined total of 7.8 million animals, including 6.8 million sheep and one million goats, is expected to be available, ensuring ample resources for the traditional festivities.
This series of proactive measures by various Moroccan institutions highlights their commitment to facilitating a joyous and smooth celebration of Eid Al-Adha for all citizens.
