DGSN grants posthumous promotion to police officer who died on duty in Salé
Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has granted an exceptional posthumous promotion to a police officer who lost his life while performing his duties in the city of Salé.
According to official information, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, approved the promotion of the late officer to the rank of chief brigadier. The officer had been serving with the mobile unit of the emergency police under the provincial security services of Salé.
The police officer passed away on the evening of Thursday, January 8, after sustaining serious injuries in a road accident that occurred while he was carrying out his official mission to protect citizens and safeguard their property.
In addition to the rank promotion, the Director General instructed the central human resources services to record this exceptional advancement in the officer’s administrative file, with full effect for the benefit of his family and legal beneficiaries. He also ordered that condolences be formally conveyed to the bereaved family and that all necessary support be provided during this difficult time.
This decision reflects the strong commitment of the national security institution to honor its personnel and recognize the sacrifices made by police officers in the line of duty. It also underscores the importance attached to valuing dedication and service in ensuring public safety.
