CTM Reinforces Multimodal Transport with 307 Million Dirham Acquisition of AML Stake

In a financial transaction worth 307 million Moroccan dirhams, Compagnie de Transports au Maroc (CTM) has secured a 51% stake in Africa Morocco Link (AML), bolstering its position in the multimodal transport sector.

CTM confirmed today, June 14, 2024, that it has acquired all the shares previously held by a banking group in the maritime transport company AML.

This 307 million dirham transaction has enabled CTM to successfully purchase a controlling 51% stake in AML's capital.

This strategic move solidifies CTM's position as a leading provider of multimodal transport services in Morocco.

Consequently, CTM will now be equipped to expand its offerings into maritime transport, primarily focusing on the routes between the ports of Tanger Med and Algeciras, as well as the line connecting Tanger Ville to Tarifa, starting in June 2024.

Through this acquisition, CTM aims to strengthen its comprehensive multimodal transport capabilities, leveraging AML's expertise in maritime operations to complement its existing services. By integrating sea transport into its portfolio, CTM can provide seamless end-to-end logistics solutions, streamlining the movement of goods across multiple modes of transportation.

This strategic expansion positions CTM as a formidable player in the Moroccan transport industry, offering a diverse range of services tailored to meet the evolving needs of businesses and customers. The acquisition of AML's stake represents a significant milestone in CTM's pursuit of growth and diversification, enabling the company to capitalize on new opportunities and solidify its position as a comprehensive multimodal transport provider in the region.
