Casablanca hosts fifth sino african economic and trade fair opening
The fifth edition of the sino african economic and trade fair opened in Casablanca, bringing together around 250 companies from Morocco and China. The event runs over three days under the theme “discover africa” and aims to strengthen commercial exchanges between the two countries while expanding cooperation across the continent.
The fair is structured around nine thematic hubs designed to connect investors, institutions, and business operators. It focuses on industrial cooperation, trade facilitation, and investment opportunities. Organizers present it as a platform to accelerate partnerships between African and Chinese actors in a context of growing economic integration.
Chinese officials highlighted Morocco’s strategic position as a gateway between Africa and Europe. They pointed to the country’s industrial development, geographic location, and openness to international trade. They also emphasized the role of the Hunan province in deepening cooperation, citing complementarity between Chinese industrial capacity and Moroccan economic assets.
The tenth anniversary of the strategic partnership between Morocco and China adds political weight to this edition. Representatives from both sides described increasing interest from Chinese companies in the Moroccan market, supported by reforms aimed at improving the business environment. Business leaders from Morocco stressed that such forums reinforce trust and long-term cooperation between the two countries.
The program includes professional meetings, matchmaking sessions, and bilateral discussions between Moroccan and Chinese firms. These exchanges aim to identify new investment channels and joint ventures in sectors such as industry, logistics, and exports, reinforcing Casablanca’s role as a regional business hub.
