Capgemini raises 2026 growth outlook as agentic AI fuels business momentum
French technology consulting and digital services group Capgemini has upgraded its revenue outlook for 2026, pointing to accelerating demand for agentic artificial intelligence solutions despite a sharp decline in first-half profit caused by restructuring costs.
The revised forecast reflects growing enterprise investment in next-generation AI systems capable of performing autonomous tasks, reinforcing Capgemini's confidence in the strength of the digital transformation market.
Revenue growth offsets restructuring impact
During the first six months of 2026, Capgemini generated €12 billion in revenue, representing an 8.8% increase compared with the same period last year.
Net profit, however, fell 31.3% to €498 million, largely reflecting expenses associated with the company's restructuring programme aimed at improving long-term efficiency and competitiveness.
While the short-term financial impact weighed on earnings, management indicated that underlying commercial activity remained robust across key business segments.
Confidence grows as AI spending accelerates
Encouraged by sustained client demand, Capgemini has increased its full-year revenue growth target to between 8.5% and 9%, compared with its previous guidance of 6.5% to 8.5%.
The improved outlook highlights the company's expectation that businesses will continue expanding investments in artificial intelligence, cloud services and digital modernization initiatives throughout the remainder of the year.
A growing share of this demand is being driven by agentic AI—autonomous software systems designed to complete complex workflows with limited human intervention—which is rapidly emerging as one of the most dynamic areas of enterprise technology.
AI reshapes the consulting industry
As organizations move beyond experimental generative AI projects toward large-scale deployment, consulting firms are experiencing rising demand for implementation, integration and governance services.
Capgemini's updated forecast illustrates how AI-related projects are becoming an increasingly important engine of growth for the global IT services industry, even as companies continue to optimize costs through internal restructuring.
The latest results suggest that, despite short-term pressure on profitability, the company expects artificial intelligence to remain a powerful catalyst for business expansion over the coming quarters.
