Bosch to manufacture humanoid robots for British startup Humanoid
Bosch has agreed to manufacture humanoid robots for the British robotics startup Humanoid in a deal aimed at scaling production of its HMND 01 platform across the European market. The agreement also involves Schaeffler as a key supplier of actuator components, strengthening the industrial supply chain behind the project.
The partnership follows a successful proof of concept conducted in March 2026 at a Bosch logistics warehouse in Bühl, Germany. The trial focused on intralogistics tasks where HMND 01 robots autonomously moved cartons from conveyor systems to transport carts in a dynamic warehouse setting. The robots handled multiple carton formats with varying sizes and weights. The system relied on Humanoid’s proprietary AI framework, KinetIQ, which demonstrated operational stability and scalability in a real industrial environment.
Under the manufacturing agreement, Bosch will act as the contract manufacturer for Humanoid while also providing strategic oversight through a design for excellence framework. This approach covers product engineering, production planning, supply chain coordination, and cost optimization. Schaeffler, already involved in earlier collaboration phases, supplies core actuator components and is expected to deepen its role as development progresses. Future iterations of the HMND 01 platform may also integrate Bosch sensors, drives, and other industrial technologies.
Humanoid leadership described the deal as a key step between prototype validation and large-scale deployment in industrial settings. Bosch executives emphasized the growing industrial potential of humanoid robotics and highlighted the company’s global manufacturing infrastructure as a critical factor in moving robotic systems from prototypes to mass production. Founded in 2024, Humanoid employs more than 200 engineers across London, Boston, and Vancouver, and is positioning itself as a major player in industrial humanoid robotics over the next two years.
