Blackstone-backed AGS Health moves closer to $500 million India IPO
AGS Health, a healthcare technology company backed by Blackstone, has taken another step toward its planned public listing in India by submitting updated draft documents for an initial public offering (IPO) valued at approximately 48 billion rupees (about $500 million).
The filing advances one of the country's closely watched healthcare technology offerings and signals continued activity in India's equity capital markets despite an evolving global investment environment.
IPO combines new capital with shareholder sale
According to the revised filing, the proposed IPO will consist of two components.
The company plans to issue new shares worth up to 18 billion rupees, with the proceeds expected to support corporate growth and strategic initiatives. At the same time, Blackstone intends to divest shares valued at up to 30 billion rupees, allowing the private equity firm to partially monetize its investment while remaining involved in the business.
Confidential listing process
AGS Health initially pursued its public offering through India's confidential filing framework, a process that enables companies to obtain regulatory feedback before publicly disclosing detailed offering documents.
The approach has become increasingly attractive for large IPO candidates because it offers greater flexibility regarding the timing of listings and the publication of sensitive financial information.
The company previously received regulatory clearance from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), paving the way for the latest submission.
Healthcare technology business
AGS Health specializes in revenue cycle management (RCM) services for healthcare providers in the United States.
Its technology and operational solutions help hospitals and medical organizations manage billing, insurance claims, payment processing and other administrative functions aimed at improving financial performance and operational efficiency.
Financial performance supports listing
The updated draft prospectus shows that AGS Health remained profitable during the financial year ended 31 March, reporting net profit of 2.07 billion rupees on revenue of 20.41 billion rupees.
The planned flotation highlights continued investor interest in technology-enabled healthcare service providers, particularly companies with recurring revenue models and exposure to the U.S. healthcare market.
If completed, the IPO would rank among the notable healthcare listings in India's market this year, reinforcing the country's position as a major destination for both domestic and international equity investors.
