Aziz Akhannouch to Present Midterm Government Balance

Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch will present the midterm balance of his government after the opening of the spring session of Parliament, which is scheduled for this Friday, April 12. This was announced by the majority parties during a meeting held on Thursday in Rabat.

The majority parties met on Thursday, April 4, in the evening under the chairmanship of the President of the RNI, Aziz Akhannouch, the coordinator of the collegiate leadership of the PAM's general secretariat, Fatim-Zahra Mansouri, accompanied by Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid and Salaheddine Aboulghali, and the Secretary General of the Istiqlal party, Nizar Baraka.

On the agenda of this meeting was the examination of the country's political and economic situation, as well as the agenda of the majority's presidency and how to strengthen coordination between the government and the components of the majority in Parliament.

In a joint statement, the majority parties praise the honorable balance of the government's action at midterm. They also indicate that this balance will be presented to parliamentarians by the head of government after the opening of the April session.

The majority parties also reaffirmed the spirit of cohesion that characterizes the relationship between the government and parliamentary groups. And they recall the establishment of a mechanism for studying and evaluating proposals for laws emanating from these groups to interact with those that fit the government's vision.

Additionally, the parties affirm their determination to continue coordination between the different components of their political formations, whether at the local or regional level. The majority also welcomes the resumption of social dialogue between the government and the most representative unions.

Finally, the majority parties announce their support for Rachid Talbi Alami for the presidency of the House of Representatives during the second half of the legislature.
