AVATR Launches in Morocco with Three High-End Electric Models
The Moroccan market for high-end electric mobility welcomes a new player. The Chinese brand AVATR Technology officially announced its establishment in Morocco during an event held Thursday in Casablanca, presenting an initial range consisting of three vehicles: the AVATR 07, the AVATR 11, and the AVATR 12.
To support its launch in the Kingdom, the manufacturer has partnered with Global Luxury Motors (GLM), which becomes its exclusive distributor. Already established in the premium automotive sector, notably through its representation of Aston Martin in Morocco, the company will handle marketing, deliveries, and after-sales service.
Three Models with a Shared Premium Ambition
The new range offered to Moroccan customers consists of two fully electric vehicles and one model equipped with a range extender. This combination allows AVATR to cover various uses while considering the constraints related to the evolution of the charging infrastructure.
The AVATR 07 serves as the intermediate SUV offering in the range. Measuring 4.825 meters in length, this model features a smart chassis and is available in a rear-wheel-drive configuration. In its range-extended version, its combined range can reach 1,200 kilometers according to the CLTC cycle communicated by the brand.
With the AVATR 11, the manufacturer is focusing more on the high-end electric SUV segment. The model measures 4.880 meters and has a wheelbase of 2.975 meters. The version intended for the Moroccan market is offered exclusively with all-wheel drive powered by two motors and a 116.79 kWh lithium ternary battery supplied by CATL. The vehicle boasts a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds and features numerous technologies dedicated to driving assistance.
The AVATR 12 completes this initial offensive with a luxurious coupe measuring 5.020 meters. Available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, the latter allows for 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in four seconds. Inside, the model stands out with a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic screen, high-definition digital mirrors, and a connected cockpit.
The Choice of the Range Extender
The introduction of the AVATR 07 in a range that also includes two 100% electric models reflects a differentiated approach to electric mobility.
The REEV system, or range extender, enables the vehicle to combine an electric motorization with a solution designed to increase its total range. For AVATR, this technology can address the needs of users who regularly undertake long journeys, while the public charging network continues to develop in Morocco.
The brand aims to provide multiple levels of response to the transition to electric mobility, rather than limiting its offering to a single propulsion technology.
GLM Takes the Lead in Distribution
AVATR has entrusted its commercial development in Morocco to Global Luxury Motors. The company, based in Casablanca, has been active in the premium and luxury vehicle market for several years.
Founded in 2020 around the exclusive representation of Aston Martin in Morocco, GLM has since expanded its activities to new brands and now intends to leverage its experience in the high-end segment for AVATR.
According to Ziad Harrach, General Manager of Global Luxury Motors, the experience gained with prestigious brands has allowed for a better understanding of the expectations of customers seeking distinctive products and personalized support.
The arrival of AVATR marks a new stage where the codes of luxury automotive combine with electric and digital technologies.
A Chinese Brand Focused on Intelligent Mobility
AVATR Technology positions itself at the intersection of premium automotive, electrification, and smart technologies. The brand is the result of a collaboration between Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, three Chinese players involved respectively in automotive, technology, and batteries.
Its positioning is based on design, embedded intelligent systems, and the onboard experience. This approach is reflected in the various models presented in Casablanca, which emphasize digital interfaces, assistance technologies, and connectivity.
Morocco Joins an Accelerated International Expansion
The arrival of AVATR in Morocco is part of an international expansion strategy initiated in 2024.
By mid-2026, the manufacturer indicated it would be present in over 40 countries and regions, with a network exceeding 80 sales and service points. Several markets in the Middle East are already among its locations, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, and Kuwait.
The Middle East and Africa region is considered a priority area for the brand's international development.
With its launch in Casablanca, AVATR aims to position its offering in a Moroccan market where interest in electrified vehicles is growing, and where the premium segment presents an opportunity for new manufacturers specializing in smart mobility.
The next steps will involve the commercial deployment of the brand, the opening of its distribution and service network, as well as the timeline for orders and initial deliveries.
