Anthropic expands into Europe with new Milan office
U.S.-based artificial intelligence company Anthropic has announced plans to open a new office in Milan as part of its continued expansion across Europe, driven by increasing global demand for generative AI technologies.
The move follows the company’s recent establishment of offices in major European cities, including Paris and Munich, as it strengthens its presence outside the United States. Anthropic aims to better serve its growing international customer base and support the rapid adoption of its AI systems.
Founded in 2021 by siblings Dario and Daniela Amodei, the company is best known for its Claude family of large language models. These AI systems are widely used for tasks such as writing assistance, coding support, and data analysis.
As part of its global strategy, Anthropic is also planning to significantly increase its international workforce in order to meet rising demand. The company already maintains offices in several European hubs, including Dublin, Zurich, and London, where it employs a substantial number of staff.
Industry analysts say the expansion reflects the accelerating competition in the artificial intelligence sector, as companies race to establish strong positions in key international markets.
