Al Hoceima airport reports 23% increase in passenger traffic
The Chérif Al Idrissi Airport in Al Hoceima recorded a notable increase of over 23% in passenger traffic in January 2026 compared with the same month in 2025, according to the Office National Des Aéroports (ONDA).
The airport welcomed 10,026 travelers in January 2026, up from 8,128 in January 2025, reflecting a strong rebound in air travel in the northern region of Morocco. Airport movements also rose by 12.5% during the month, with 108 movements recorded compared to 96 in the previous year.
The ONDA report highlights that in 2025, the Chérif Al Idrissi Airport handled 137,769 passengers, an increase of 15.5% compared to 119,256 travelers in 2024.
At the national level, Morocco’s airports collectively registered more than 3.13 million passengers in January 2026, marking a 14.7% increase compared to January 2025. Analysts note that this growth underscores a continued recovery in tourism and domestic travel, reflecting both increased mobility and renewed confidence in air travel infrastructure.
