Lebanon’s Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad Hajjar, met on Wednesday in Manama with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, in a visit aimed at reinforcing bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the security field.
During the meeting, the Bahraini monarch reaffirmed his country’s long-standing support for Lebanon, emphasizing Bahrain’s commitment to preserving Lebanon’s security, stability, unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He also expressed his wishes for greater development and prosperity for the Lebanese people.
King Hamad praised the close and brotherly relations between Bahrain and Lebanon, noting that ties between the two nations continue to progress across various sectors in line with their shared interests. He stressed the importance of official visits in strengthening cooperation, coordination, and joint action, especially on security-related issues.
For his part, Minister Hajjar thanked the king for the warm welcome and hospitality, highlighting Bahrain’s supportive stance toward Lebanon and its people. He underlined Lebanon’s desire to further develop its privileged relations with Bahrain in multiple fields, for the benefit of both nations.
The visit follows talks held a day earlier between Ahmad Hajjar and his Bahraini counterpart, focused on boosting security cooperation. It also comes amid a broader effort by Lebanon to restore relations with Gulf countries, after years of strained ties.
