Abedali Zahidi to Face Kickboxing Legend Marat Grigorian in ONE Championship
Morocco's Abedali Zahidi is gearing up for the toughest challenge of his career, as he faces kickboxing legend Marat Grigorian on December 20 at ONE Friday Fights 92. The highly anticipated bout will take place inside Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium, with the two fighters set to compete in a featherweight kickboxing contest.
Zahidi, a 25-year-old Moroccan athlete, made a strong debut in the ONE Championship with a spectacular knockout victory in a catchweight Muay Thai match against Myanmar’s Tun Min Aung at ONE Friday Fights 88 on November 22. The win, which brought his professional record to 25-4, showcased Zahidi’s exceptional skills in the ring.
However, Zahidi faces a far more challenging opponent in Grigorian, who is known as one of the most decorated fighters in the sport. The 33-year-old Armenian is a multiple-time world champion in kickboxing, though he has yet to capture the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title. Grigorian, with a promotional record of 4-2, has lost only to current divisional champion Chingiz Allazov and interim titleholder Superbon.
ONE Friday Fights 92 will begin on Friday, December 20, at 1:30 PM (WET), and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS. Fans can expect a thrilling contest as Zahidi looks to build on his promising start while Grigorian aims to prove his dominance in the division.
