Seven Moroccan Referees Selected for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has announced the selection of seven Moroccan referees who will participate in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), scheduled from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in Côte d'Ivoire. Morocco tops the list of 68 referees, including central referees, assistants, and Video Assistant Referees (VAR), chosen by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), sharing this distinction with Egypt.
Bouchra Kerboubi, Moroccan international referee, stands out as the only woman among the selected central referees. She will officiate as the main referee in CAN matches alongside her compatriots Jalal Jayed and Samir Guezzaz.
Mostapha Akerkad and Lahcen Azguaou have been designated as assistant referees, while Redouane Jayed and Zakaria Brinzi will serve as VAR referees.
