Moroccan national team coach, Walid Regragui, has officially disclosed the 27-man squad that will proudly represent Morocco at the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast. Scheduled to commence on January 13th and culminate on February 11th, the biennial continental championship will unfold across five vibrant Ivorian cities.

In a strategic move, Regragui has chosen to maintain a sense of continuity by selecting the core players instrumental in Morocco's unprecedented success at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Renowned figures such as Achraf Hakimi, Yassine Bounou, and Sofyan Amrabat aim to seamlessly transition their outstanding club form onto the international stage once again. Notably, the coach emphasizes the infusion of youth talent into the team, with promising additions including Chadi Riyad from Spain, the young French talent Amir Richardson, and Oussama El Azzouzi, who plies his trade in Italy.

The draw places the Atlas Lions in Group F, where they will contend with formidable opponents—Tanzania, DR Congo, and Zambia. Their AFCON journey kicks off on January 17th against Tanzania, followed by subsequent matches against DR Congo and Zambia. Though the task of defending their title from a mere two years ago poses a formidable challenge, the combination of Regragui's leadership, the amalgamation of experience with youthful vigor, instills confidence in Morocco's ability to embark on another profound journey in Ivory Coast.
