OMTPME Strategic Plan 2024-2026 Approved, Aiming to Strengthen SME Development
The Board of Directors of the Moroccan Observatory for Very Small, Small, and Medium Enterprises (OMTPME) has given the green light to a comprehensive three-year strategic plan for 2024-2026 during its 7th meeting in Rabat. The primary objective is to fortify OMTPME's pivotal role in Morocco's entrepreneurial landscape and enhance data systems to facilitate informed policymaking for SMEs.
The 2024-2026 plan, approved after drawing insights from the preceding 2021-2023 strategic plan, takes into account global and domestic trends relevant to SMEs. A central focus of this initiative is to deliver high-quality statistics and indicators on Moroccan SMEs to both public and private sector stakeholders. Additionally, OMTPME will conduct in-depth studies on issues that significantly impact the growth of SMEs.
Given that SMEs constitute over 95% of all Moroccan firms, OMTPME seeks to harness the power of data and research as instrumental tools for development. The new strategic plan further propels its mission to inform evidence-based policies that dismantle barriers hindering the progress of micro, small, and medium enterprises. With an emphasis on improved access to funding, training, and other support schemes, Morocco envisions its SME sector as a catalyst for innovation and sustainable economic expansion.
