In a resolute display of dedication to Africa's principles of solidarity, unity, and shared destiny, Omar Hilale, the permanent representative of Morocco to the United Nations, underscored the country's unwavering commitment at the 3rd G77+China Summit held in Kampala on Monday. Hilale shed light on a multitude of pioneering structural projects and initiatives championed by Morocco, aimed at facilitating regional integration across Africa.

Moving beyond economic endeavors, Morocco places paramount importance on forging strategic partnerships through a holistic and integrated approach. Hilale elucidated that this approach is firmly grounded in the principles of solidarity, co-development, and the establishment of peace and stability. Emphasizing Morocco's ambitious structural cooperation projects spanning crucial sectors such as agriculture, health, energy, and infrastructure, Hilale highlighted the exemplary Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project. This flagship initiative serves as a catalyst for regional integration, laying the foundation for common economic advancement and fostering a dynamic conducive to the development of Africa's Atlantic front.

Additionally, the Atlantic African States Initiative, a collaborative effort between Morocco and 22 African nations, constitutes another facet of the overarching projects aimed at achieving regional integration. Hilale expounded on the initiative's objective of establishing an institutional framework for consultations on strategic matters, thereby bolstering security, stability, and communal prosperity in the region.

Hilale also touched upon a series of international initiatives unveiled by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, specifically designed to facilitate the access of Sahel States to the Atlantic Ocean. Within this context, Hilale specified that Morocco has generously made available its road, port, and rail infrastructure to these nations. This pragmatic platform serves as a catalyst for infrastructure development in Sahel countries, connecting them to vital transport and communication networks within their region. The ultimate aim is to promote the opening of these states and contribute to the ambitious objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Moreover, Morocco has prioritized food security and climate change in its cooperative endeavors with partners, particularly in Africa. Hilale highlighted Morocco's launch of large-scale fertilizer production projects in several countries, underscoring its commitment to fostering food security by providing affordable fertilizers.

During his address to the assembly, Hilale appealed for intensified cooperation and unwavering solidarity among the member states of the G77+China group, urging enhanced multilateral collaboration. He emphasized the imperative not only to reaffirm the commitment of "Leaving no one behind" but also to effectively implement this commitment at national and international levels by fully embracing the 2030 Agenda and injecting a fresh impetus into regional and international cooperation.

Under the theme "Leave no one behind," the 3rd Summit of the Group of 77+China commenced on Sunday in the Ugandan capital, serving as a pivotal platform for fostering inclusivity and sustainable development.
