Igniting Innovation in Rural Morocco: Launching the Genious Territory Project in Al Haouz
A groundbreaking initiative is set to foster innovation and sustainability within Morocco's rural communities. On Wednesday, January 24th, Morocco Impact and the SMarT Foundation will unveil the Genious Territory project in the Douar Sidi Hssain commune of the Al Haouz province.
The Genious Territory project, a result of a powerful collaboration between Morocco Impact, the SMarT Foundation, local associations, and public stakeholders, is poised to be a catalyst for rural development. Drawing inspiration from the success of Genious Medina, a multidimensional innovation ecosystem launched in Casablanca's old medina in January 2023, this new venture aspires to replicate that success in a rural setting.
Genious Territory strategically aligns economic and environmental objectives to address contemporary challenges and generate widespread impact. The model integrates eco-friendly solutions such as solar energy, permaculture, and water resource preservation to propel rural progress.
Advocates of Genious Territory emphasize its commitment to rural communities through a grassroots and collaborative approach. By mobilizing both public and community partners, the initiative seeks to nurture rural ingenuity and leadership for a sustainable future.
