Abdellatif Miraoui Unveils Morocco's 2024 Strategy for University Excellence
Abdellatif Miraoui, the esteemed Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation in Morocco, has unveiled a visionary roadmap for the nation's university system, slated for transformation by the year 2024. This strategic vision is intricately crafted to elevate academic and scientific excellence, harmonize with global models, and harness the transformative potential of cutting-edge digital technology.
According to Miraoui, the upcoming shift into cruise speed for deploying the transformative projects of Vision 2030, particularly within open-access higher education institutions, marks a pivotal moment for Morocco's university ecosystem.
Scheduled for launch in 2024 are several key initiatives, including the establishment of new centers of excellence within open-access universities, a comprehensive overhaul of PhD programs, digital skills training, the introduction of e-learning platforms, and the implementation of tools to enhance governance.
"DigiTech will play a leading role in driving these transformative initiatives, influencing teaching methods, training programs, research topics, and more," affirmed Miraoui. "Moroccan universities are poised to continually reinvent themselves, staying in sync with the evolving global landscape."
Despite the promising transformations in progress, challenges persist. Overcoming these challenges will necessitate rallying all stakeholders around a shared vision of the university's societal role, as emphasized by the Minister.
"We have a responsibility to turn challenges into genuine opportunities, mirroring the success seen in numerous societies today," Miraoui remarked, echoing His Majesty King Mohammed VI's emphasis on youth and human capital as pivotal to Morocco's development.
The Minister expressed optimism for a stellar 2024 characterized by health, success, and serenity. "I am confident that, collectively, leveraging our intelligence, we will continue this journey and strive for impactful results."
