Dr. Moulay Said Afif Warns of Persistent Virus and Spread of Other Respiratory Infections
Moulay Said Afif, a pediatrician and member of the scientific commission for COVID-19 vaccination, has indicated that the virus is still present. However, infections have significantly decreased.
In a statement, Dr. Afif emphasized that other respiratory viruses are currently experiencing significant spread, highlighting that the symptoms of COVID-19 and seasonal flu are similar. "Patients will need to undergo testing to determine if it is the coronavirus," explained the doctor.
Simultaneously, Dr. Afif assured that a respiratory virus is currently affecting babies under three months old. "Parents of newborns need to be cautious. It is necessary to protect babies, keep them away from enclosed spaces, and avoid kissing them. Most children who have contracted this virus have had to be urgently hospitalized to receive oxygen," he warned.
Furthermore, the doctor urged elderly individuals and those suffering from chronic illnesses to get vaccinated against seasonal flu.
