The new Honda CR-V arrives in Morocco with a hybrid drivetrain
Honda Maroc is set to unveil its newest SUV, the sixth-generation CR-V. With its sharp exterior appearance, this car stands out due to the debut of a hybrid drivetrain. Built on a new platform, it offers a longer entry, wider hallways, generous interior space, and cutting-edge technologies.
Externally, the new CR-V adopts the brand's fully realized conceptual language, enhanced by powerful touches. A striking chandelier, inspired by a hexagonal maille pattern, commands attention and harmonizes with a pair of LED phares. The front pare-chocs consist of a black plastic protective covering and an argent-colored garniture that extends to the bottom of the caisse and the roue passages.
The overall aesthetic is still flawless, characterized by a single net pli along the length of the folds and a subtle topper, completed by more substantial rear carrosserie protection. The backlighting adopts a new vertical design, while the rearview mirror appears less inclined than before.
Technology and on-board assistance for the Honda CR-V
On board the new CR-V, driving assistance systems and technologies seamlessly blend into the multipurpose SUV's design. According to the brand's new design direction, the inside features premium materials, meticulous finishing, and high-end accents. For a refined aesthetic, the dashboard features a sleek metal maille in the shape of an abeille, visually dividing the information display, the audio system, and the climate control commands. A 9.2-inch tactile screen that is slightly raised above the dashboard coexists with a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel.
The equipment includes eight electrically adjustable seat settings, a panoramic roof, driving modes, and automatic i-Dual Zone climate control.
When it comes to safety features, the new CR-V has features like a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, an adaptive speed regulator with low-speed follow-up, a braking system with collision alert, assistance with staying in the designated lanes, and a system of route brightness. Honda Maroc emphasizes the need to understand the ADAS package to ensure safe and secure driving.
Hybrid Drivetrain for the New CR-V
The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine powering the new CR-V is paired with an electric motor to produce a combined power of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 335 Nm at 2000 tr/min. This setup makes it possible to efficiently recharge the large battery, increasing the vehicle's electrical range. According to the manufacturer's instructions, the automobile can travel about 1,160 kilometers when the battery is fully charged and the fuel reservoir is full.
The CR-V is available in two finishes, Titanium and Executive, with prices of 504,000 and 550,000 DH, respectively. Univers Motors, the only importer and distributor of the Honda and Ferrari brands in Morocco, used the press conference to celebrate its 50th anniversary and to announce the return of motorcycle sales, showcasing the Goldwing in the showroom.
