SNEP Enhances Production Capacity to Bolster Morocco's Industrial Sovereignty
Mohammedia, December 6th, 2023 - SNEP, Morocco's premier PVC producer and a leading electrolysis company, celebrated a pivotal moment in its history with the official inauguration of an extension to its production units. This milestone event, coinciding with SNEP’s 50th anniversary, not only signifies significant progress in the company’s evolution but also solidifies its crucial role in shaping Morocco’s industrial landscape.
The expansion, necessitating an investment of nearly 600 million Moroccan dirhams, will elevate SNEP’s annual PVC resin capacity (a fully recyclable product) to 90,000 metric tons and its PVC compound capacity to 25,000 metric tons. Moreover, the project is anticipated to generate more than 450 permanent employment opportunities.
Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, emphasized during the inauguration that, "This investment aligns perfectly with the government’s strategic objectives under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aiming to fortify the Kingdom’s industrial sovereignty."
Mezzour added, "Beyond addressing the surging demand across various sectors, this project positions Morocco to harness international opportunities, fostering youth employment and bolstering the country's global competitiveness."
Le PDG de SNEP, Fayçal El Kadiri, a exprimé sa fierté d'atteindre cette étape significative dans le parcours de l'entreprise, déclarant : "Ces nouvelles unités soulignent notre engagement inébranlable envers la souveraineté industrielle nationale, la promotion des produits 'Made in Morocco' et la recherche de l'excellence opérationnelle."
El Kadiri a poursuivi : "Cet investissement nous permet non seulement de répondre à la demande croissante des clients, mais ouvre également des voies à la diversification de nos produits, élargissant notre part de marché tant au niveau national qu'international. Il nous positionne stratégiquement pour une croissance future, jetant les bases d'une rentabilité soutenue et de la durabilité globale de l'entreprise."
Les installations nouvellement inaugurées intègrent des systèmes de contrôle numériques de pointe, assurant une automatisation étendue et la sécurité des processus. Des investissements substantiels ont également été dirigés vers des technologies vertes, mettant l'accent sur la récupération d'énergie et l'utilisation d'hydrogène vert produit en interne. Ces initiatives visent à améliorer l'efficacité énergétique et à réduire la dépendance aux combustibles fossiles.
