Morocco sets new tourism milestone with MAD 112 billion revenue in 2024
Tourism revenue in Morocco reached MAD 112 billion in 2024, representing a 43% increase compared to 2019 and a 7% rise from 2023, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.
The country's tourism sector demonstrated strong performance in December, with revenues reaching nearly MAD 8 billion, marking an 11% increase compared to the previous year.
Tourist arrivals increased by 20% in 2024, reflecting the country's enhanced appeal and its success in attracting a diverse range of visitors. Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor noted that this growth demonstrates the maturity of Morocco's tourism sector, which has successfully adapted to global trends while capitalizing on its natural, cultural, and human resources.
The country is now focusing on providing diverse and authentic experiences that align with travelers' expectations, as reported by Morocco's Press Agency (MAP).
The ministry's statement emphasized that beyond the economic achievements, these results highlight tourism's significant contribution to job creation and local development throughout the country.
