Iran strikes back at Israel with ballistic missiles causing multiple casualties

Iran has launched a fresh series of ballistic missile attacks targeting Israeli cities including Tel Aviv and Haifa, resulting in the deaths of at least eight individuals. These strikes occurred just hours after Israel conducted air raids on Tehran, the Iranian capital. The ongoing conflict has seen Israel’s bombardments in Iran lead to over 220 fatalities, including around 70 women and children. Among those killed in recent Israeli strikes were the intelligence head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and two other senior generals.

Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz has issued a stern warning to the residents of Tehran, indicating that they will “soon pay the price” for Iran’s retaliatory attacks. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump expressed hope for a diplomatic resolution between Israel and Iran but reaffirmed continued US support for Israel.

In the Gaza conflict, the toll remains devastating, with Gaza’s Health Ministry reporting at least 55,362 deaths and 128,741 injuries due to Israel’s military operations. Additionally, Israeli casualties from the Hamas-led assault on October 7, 2023, include approximately 1,139 deaths and over 200 hostages taken.
