Successful hand reattachment at CHU Mohammed VI in Marrakech
A recent medical achievement at the Arrazi Hospital, part of the CHU Mohammed VI in Marrakech, has captured attention as a multidisciplinary team successfully reattached an entirely amputated hand. This remarkable surgery was performed on a 52-year-old patient who lost his right hand at the wrist due to an accident involving an electric saw.
The intricate procedure lasted nearly seven hours, showcasing the surgical expertise required for such a complex operation. Following the surgery, the patient was placed under rigorous medical supervision for ten days to ensure the reattached hand regained its vitality.
Currently, the patient is in good health and remains hospitalized in the orthopedic trauma department at Arrazi Hospital, where he is receiving necessary care, including rehabilitation sessions.
