Moroccan International Amrabat Bids Farewell to AEK Athens After Successful Stint

Greek powerhouse AEK Athens and Moroccan midfielder Nordin Amrabat have agreed to part ways, marking the end of a remarkable three-and-a-half-year partnership that saw the club achieve significant success.

The 37-year-old veteran, who joined the club in August 2021, played an instrumental role in AEK Athens' impressive 2022-2023 campaign, helping secure both the Greek League title and Cup trophy. Throughout his tenure, Amrabat demonstrated his offensive prowess, tallying 22 goals across 113 official appearances.

Taking to Instagram to address his departure, Amrabat shared his sentiments: "Today is the end of an unforgettable chapter in my professional career, after three and a half years full of beautiful memories."

The club's leadership, including president Marios Iliopoulos, expressed their appreciation for Amrabat's contributions, extending their best wishes for his future endeavors. "We wish Nordin good health and all the best in the continuation of his career," Iliopoulos stated.

Amrabat's illustrious career spans multiple European leagues, beginning in the Netherlands with clubs like Almere City, Venlo, and Eindhoven. His journey continued through Turkey's Kayserispor and Galatasaray, Spain's Malaga and Leganes, England's Watford, and Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr, before his successful stint in Greece.

The midfielder's departure from AEK Athens marks another milestone in his distinguished career, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, leadership, and memorable achievements in Greek football.
