His Majesty King Mohammed VI Honors Ivorian First Lady with Luncheon
In a demonstration of diplomatic camaraderie, His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco hosted a lavish luncheon at the Royal Guests Palace in Rabat, honoring the esteemed First Lady of Côte d'Ivoire, Dominique Ouattara. The event, held on Wednesday, was a resplendent affair graced by the presence of Moroccan dignitaries and influential figures from both nations.
Presided over by Princess Lalla Asmae, the luncheon brought together an illustrious gathering, including Morocco's Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aawatif Hayar, and Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, among others. The Moroccan Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, Abdelmalek Kettani, and the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, Mohamed Yacoubi, were also in attendance, lending their presence to this diplomatic occasion.
Accompanying the First Lady were Nadine Sangare, National Director of the Children Of Africa Foundation, and Patricia Sylvie Yao, Chief of Staff, further underscoring the significance of this visit to Morocco.
Ouattara's visit, which began on Tuesday with a warm welcome from Princess Lalla Asmae upon her arrival in Salé, marks the launch of the second phase of the Ivorian campaign: "United, We Hear Each Other Better." During her stay, the First Lady, accompanied by Princess Lalla Asmae, visited the Diagnostic and Hearing Rehabilitation Center of the Lalla Asmae Foundation in Rabat, a state-of-the-art facility boasting a reception hall, mother-and-child space, pediatric consultation rooms, and a cutting-edge hearing room.
In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility, Ouattara and Princess Lalla Asmae inaugurated the neonatal screening program for hearing impairment at the maternity ward of the Moulay Youssef Hospital Center. This groundbreaking initiative, envisioned on a continental scale, aims to facilitate early diagnosis and management of hearing disorders in newborns, fostering collaboration between Moroccan medical experts and their African counterparts.
The visit not only highlights the strong diplomatic ties between Morocco and Côte d'Ivoire but also underscores the unwavering commitment of both nations to improving healthcare accessibility and promoting international cooperation in the medical field, paving the way for a healthier and more inclusive future for generations to come.
