In the wake of a devastating earthquake that severely impacted the High Atlas region, a clarion call has been sounded for a responsible, innovative, and forward-thinking approach to engineering for the area's reconstruction. This sentiment was echoed during the inaugural conference of the 26th edition of the EHTP-Entreprises Forum, held in Casablanca.

Nabil Benazzouz, President of the Moroccan Federation of Engineering Consultancy, underscored the crucial role engineers play in managing crises stemming from natural disasters. He urged young talents to contribute to this regional development endeavor, recognizing the vital importance of their expertise.

Achraf Haden, an official from the National Risk Forecasting Center of the Ministry of Interior, emphasized the significance of an anticipatory engineering approach to ensure optimal effectiveness during emergency situations. He highlighted the evolution of Morocco's national policy on risk management and the measures taken to bolster resilience against natural disasters.

Amina Bouktab, a member of the board of directors of the Al Omrane Group, lauded the necessary expertise in crisis management and reconstruction, commending the engagement of young engineers in this formidable challenge. Mustapha Fares, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Equipment and Water, underscored Morocco's mobilization for sustainable and innovative reconstruction, praising the coordination among stakeholders involved in this process.

Held under the theme "Rebuilding the High Atlas: The Rise of Moroccan Engineering Built on Innovation, Sustainability, and Solidarity," this gathering emphasized the importance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI's leadership and the national mobilization in the exemplary management of the crisis.

The conference served as a resounding call for engineers and professionals to harness their skills and ingenuity to forge a path towards a sustainable and innovative reconstruction of the High Atlas region. By embracing cutting-edge technologies, environmentally conscious practices, and a spirit of solidarity, the engineering community can play a pivotal role in rebuilding this cherished landscape, ensuring its resilience and prosperity for generations to come.
