Morocco's Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has announced its intention to bid for hosting the next Futsal World Cup, further solidifying the country's position as an emerging powerhouse in international football. This ambitious move comes on the heels of Morocco securing hosting rights for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and being named a co-host for the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.

The announcement was made during a ceremony at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Sale, where the FRMF honored Morocco's national futsal team for their impressive quarter-final finish in the recent Futsal World Cup held in Uzbekistan. FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa praised the team's performance and highlighted Morocco's growing reputation in the sport.

Lekjaa emphasized the country's commitment to enhancing football infrastructure and talent development, stating, "Under the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, we are making significant strides in football development at regional, continental, and international levels." He called on futsal officials to develop a comprehensive strategy to elevate the sport, particularly in light of Morocco's upcoming bid to host the Futsal World Cup.

The national futsal team coach, Hicham Dguig, expressed gratitude for the support received upon the team's return from Uzbekistan. Team captain Soufiane El Mesrar echoed these sentiments, acknowledging the substantial resources provided to the team and stressing the importance of continued progress to maintain Morocco's standing in the sport.

Morocco's bid to host the Futsal World Cup is part of a broader strategy to establish the country as a global football hub. With major tournaments like AFCON 2025 and the 2030 FIFA World Cup already secured, Morocco is demonstrating its commitment to football at all levels.

This latest initiative not only showcases Morocco's ambition in the sporting world but also highlights the country's growing influence in international football. As Morocco continues to invest in its football infrastructure and nurture talent, it is positioning itself as a formidable force in both traditional football and futsal on the global stage.
